Teacher Profile
Hi, my name is Christina Olague, known to my students and co-workers as, “ Mrs. O”. I was born and raised in Northbridge, Massachusetts. After graduating from Worcester State College, I taught 6th grade, team teaching, for 20 years at W. Edward Balmer Elementary School in my hometown.
My husband Anthony and I relocated to Williams, Arizona (his hometown) in 1988 to become caregivers for my father-in-law whose health was declining. While attending Northern Arizona University, I substituted at Grand Canyon, Williams, and Ash Fork schools. I also taught a 5th/6th grade combination at Little Singer School, a Chapter House School, at Bird Springs on the Navajo Reservation outside of Winslow. This was beneficial in adding to my interest in multicultural teaching. While I was busy at school, my husband was employed as a wild land fire fighter for a Federal agency, and recently retired.
My hobbies are traveling, jeeping in the desert, cooking Mexican food, enjoying outdoor activities, and poetry writing. I am chairman for the Parker 4 Wheelers Scholarship Committee, which awards $2500 each year in scholarships to deserving seniors in Parker.
I have taught 22 years at Wallace Elementary, team teaching and self-contained; and am currently teaching 6th grade at Wallace Junior High. My love and rewards as an educator continue to this day in the many accomplishments of my students !
