The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department will be hosting a summer camp for students currently in 5th thru 8th grades. The camp will be held Monday, June 21 thru Wednesday, June 23 from 9 am until 4 pm daily at the high school. Transportation will not be provided. We will limit the camp to the first 100 students so class sizes are not too big. The goal of the camp is to let students know what CTE programs are offered at the high school and get them excited to explore a program when they get here. We will open up registration to current 7th and 8th graders the week of April 19th. If we do not have 100 students by April 27, we will open up registration to current 5th and 6th graders. We will provide lunch each day for the students and they will get a t-shirt and other take-aways from each program.
The students will be broken into 6 groups. They will spend 3 hours in each program. They will rotate to a new CTE program after lunch each day. AWC and Arizona at Work will be here to work with the students for 30 minutes each day after lunch break. We feel this will be a great opportunity for students to learn about the CTE programs offered at the high school.
